Our summer holidays began July 1 in Edmonton, AB. We visited Renny (Rocky's sister) and Brendan and our nieces Anaya and Emery. Renny, Anaya & Easton above. We had to put Easton in the oiler's jersey to enter the good ol' city of champions. We had a great time visiting with them, going to the park, farmers market, out for ice cream and visiting outside around the BBQ. They move to Montreal in September for Brenden to complete his Masters in Urban Design.
From Edmonton we drove down to Hays, AB to visit mom & dad Olfert on the farm. Rocky hauled bails with his dad while mom and I baked and hung laundry while Easton enjoyed the weather in the tub. Truely a different world out on the farm compared to what we are used to! Grandpa can't wait for Easton to join the guys out on the tractor.
We arrived in Winnipeg July 6 and enjoyed time with my family. We've had extended family over, visited some friends and spent time at the cottage. The weather hasn't been as hot as usual for Manitoba, so we spent a few rainy days in the cottage watching the thunderstorms (which I miss - so that was also a treat). Rocky had to leave on Wednesday to go back home to train with the volleyball team and head off to Korea for more training with TEAM BC (for the Canada Games in PEI next summer). So Easton and I stayed in Winnipeg and will be here for another few weeks while Rocky is away.
having fun in the jolly jumper at Oma & Opa's
feeding Easton is a constant source of entertainment as he giggles and coos and loves every bite. Nobody is suprised by this love for food. :-)

A TRIBUTE TO NATHAN TOEWS
Yesterday was the anniversary of our friend Nathan Toews' death. Nathan was an amazing man of God, a genuine and kind person, a gifted musician and worship leader, and a good friend to many. Toews family, I have been thinking and praying for you much this week. We miss him dearly!

That first photo of Easton is great - hope you are having a great time with family. Once you and I are back from our holidays we should get together.
